was born in 1983 in Marienbad, Czech Republic. At the age of seven, he became a member of the Folk-Dance Ensemble Stazka in Tepla. From 1994 to 1997, he studied at the Ballet School of J. Dolecek in Karlsbad and from 1998 at the Duncan Centre Conservatorium in Prague. His own choreographies »A.M.F. – Arbeit macht frei« (2001) and »She created beauty so scary« (2002) had their premieres in Prague. In Berlin, he worked with Farhad Payar and Yasmine Kalifa on the theatre piece »Jack & Harun« and with cie Toula Limnaios on »Irrsinn«. In 2004 he worked with Jochen Roller on his piece »Mindgarden«, furthermore danced in Mirella Weingarten’s duett »Combattimento di Tancredi e Clorinda« and her dance film »Circulatura«. In november 2007 he took part in the project »Mayim Mayim« at the Stadttheater Nürnberg/Fürth. He has been working with Sasha Waltz since 2003. Jirí dances in the productions »noBody«, »insideout«, »Dido & Aeneas« and »Medea« by Sasha Waltz. His first solo was premiered in april 2008 in the framework of the support programme »Choreographen der Zukunft« by Sasha Waltz & Guests.
